Assessment: | Online pre-study:First aid/Incident report form Complete a risk assessment for asthma and anaphylaxis and an individual management plan for a child with asthma and anaphylaxis based on a case study and information provided.* Individual asthma and anaphylaxis management plan for a child, which includes a communication plan to raise awareness of the child’s allergies, triggers and their management plan.* Theory assessment* A written assessment consisting of short answer and multiple-choice questions.*The student must complete all assessment questions.* Face to face training:* Administer asthma medication without a spacer.* Administer the adrenaline autoinjector for anaphylaxis.* First aid for allergic reaction and anaphylaxis.Practical scenarios: Breathing difficulties – Asthma |

Asthma and Anaphylaxis Course Content
This asthma and anaphylaxis training course is accredited training that includes information about; what asthma is; how to recognise asthma; who gets asthma and why; how you can help someone with asthma, and minimising the risk of exposure to triggers in children’s services.
Anaphylaxis training includes information about allergies and anaphylaxis, recognising signs and symptoms, managing and treating an allergic reaction (including administration) and minimising the risk of exposure to allergens in children’s service.
This asthma and anaphylaxis course is a national requirement in childcare facilities to work as a childcare worker.
